The Staff Development & Talent Management team develops, coordinates, and delivers pre-service, in-service and management/supervisory training to staff in all of the department's divisions. The academy promotes personal growth and professional development and imparts the departmental vision to all staff members to help them achieve the short- and long-term goals of the agency. Training academies operate in Jefferson City, Bonne Terre and Cameron.

The Information Technology unit within the Missouri Department of Corrections works to ensure that technological tools, services and projects support the mission of the department and help staff to do our jobs effectively and efficiently. The unit manages computer and web-based applications specific to the department, operates a departmental help desk, and works with our own divisions and with Office of Administration Information Technology Services to plan and prioritizes tech projects.

Business Operations is responsible for the purchasing, storage, and distribution of commodity food items to the department’s institutions from two regional warehouses. The section also manages essential central office services such as telecommunications, warehouse functions and fleet management.
